The Historical Quarter of the city has a good part of the buildings of Old Buenos Aires; These are located between the districts of San Telmo and Monserrat. Among the most outstanding are the Monument to Julio A. Roca, President of the Nation in two periods and famous for having commanded the military campaign known as "The Conquest of the Desert." It is also worth visiting the Palace of the Legislature and The Manzana de las Luces, a historic block of the city that is surrounded by the Bolivar, Moreno, Alsina, Julio A. Roca and Peru Streets.There are located the National Colegio de Buenos Aires, San Ignacio Church, The old building of the University of Buenos Aires and in addition to some historical buildings.
